2014 Glass Craft & Bead Expo ~ Proper Use of Glues and Adhesives with Karen Carney

Proper Use of Glues and Adhesives with Karen Carney
Join Artist and Instructor Karen Carney at the Las Vegas Glass Craft & Bead Expo on Friday evening, March 28th from 5:30-9:30pm to learn all about the use of adhesives and why to choose one adhesive over another. Karen will be discussing No Days Adhesives as well as other adhesives.

NOT all glass working involves lead and solder to hold constructions together. Sometimes glue and adhesives are necessary. In this Lecture/Demo/Hands on class you will learn about the different glues and adhesives available in the marketplace. How do you get your mosaic to stay on its substrate material? How do you keep those jewelry findings permanently attached to the glass and how in the world do they assemble those glass crystal figurines, goblets and beveled items with no visible means of attachments? This class will lead you through the decision making process when selecting an adhesive for your product. Standard favorites, specialty adhesives and new products will be demonstrated and available to try. Glue samples and comparison chart will be just one of the hand-out provided.. Students bring: note taking materials.
