Glass Mosaics with Christine Stewart
Join Australian Glass Artist Christine Stewart at the Las Vegas Glass Craft & Bead Expo on Saturday, March 29th from 8am-4pm.

SA_02 - GLASS MOSAICS - An inspiring informative visual and hands on journey!

This class is designed to both inspire and inform all those who attend. Discover the shimmering transformation that glass mosaic creates adorning a myriad of surfaces for both indoor use and outdoors.

Christine - author of “Mosaic Mirrors, Platters and More”, “Mosaic Pots’, Mosaic Pictures in Glass” and “Mosaic Unlimited” will share her techniques with you, discuss project possibilities and provide detailed information on how to adorn almost any surface with glass mosaic designs; cutting, assembly and finishing techniques will be covered in detail.

Have you ever wondered how to color your grout and make it glitter with gold or appear a deep purple or red? Can you apply mosaic to your fire place hearth, kitchen backsplash or BBQ area wall? All of your questions will be answered. This class includes hands on demonstrations and great tips and shortcuts for you to build and create fabulous glass mosaic designs. Details about the new “Hot Mosaic Techniques" will also be shared along with firing schedules. In the afternoon you will work on a small mosaic project using the cutting techniques you have learned in Christine’s previous demonstrations of using the Mosaic Cutting tool like you have never seen before. You will view a visual gallery of both Christine’s work and a collection of her students work, an inspiring visual journey into glass mosaic art - the unusual - the practical - the zany!! Students bring: glass cutting tools, glass mosaic cutters, glass cutting surface, Sharpie Marking Pen, small pair scissors, tweezers, note pad & pen, safety glasses and wear covered footwear.
