No Days at SAMA 2012 - Lexington, Kentucky

Carrie waking up with some coffee

The Society of American Mosaic Artists annual conference took place in Lexington, Kentucky this year, and No Days made an appearance on the marketplace floor in what we called "the glass corner."

smalti from the Institute of Mosaic Art.

Don and Fred getting ready to demo with the Morton System

Spectrum Glass was kind enough to donate some of their easy to cut glass for use in our booth, where Don Abel of Morton Glass Works unveiled the long awaited arrival of his new Morton Cutting Surface, as well as showing how quickly and easily you can cut multiples of a variety of shapes ultra-fast using the Portable Glass Shop and the Safety Break System.
Steve Shupper of Glass Accessories Intrnatl and Susan Gamble of Santa Theresa Tile Works
Steve Shupper was demo-ing how the Toyo Glass Cutters work, and socializing with Susan Gamble of Santa Theresa Tile Works, who played host to NO Days a few weeks ago for a NO Days Road Show. Susan has been busily creating new "Skinny Tiles", which are the same thickness of glass and cut with glass cutting tools!

Lots of eye candy at the Santa Theresa Tile Works booth
In fact, Susan let me play with some of the skinny tiles and I incorporated them into a quick sample tile with some glass, smalti and NO Days Groutless Mosaic Adhesive.

The conference was well attended and there were loads of delicious mosaics to take in. Check out some of the photo galleries:
